New Etsy Faves

Have I mentioned how much I love finding new pretty Etsy shops? Well I'll say it again! I LOVE FINDING NEW PRETTY ETSY SHOPS! :P I warned you.

Today I'm sharing Katie Jean's Handmade Wedding and Special Event Clothing. First of all I have to say, the aesthetic of shop's pictures makes a HUGE impact on whether I look at them or not. It is true that good photos makes ALL the difference. I chose these pictures in particular from the shop because I love the brick background and the soft, vintage vibe.

I don't need a wedding dress anymore, but oh dear are these pretty. Make sure you check out the other lovely things from Katie Jean and dream of beautiful summer evenings :)

We Do: Weekend Adventures

Lately we've been super busy, for some unknown reason, I feel like it's been go go go for a while now. This weekend however we are going away for the long weekend (Yaaay Canada's birthday!) and we're going to have LOTS of adventures :) I'm foreseeing vintage stores, cupcakes, shopping, new restaurants...AH! I'm excited.

Last weekend we went to a friend's wedding social which was a bbq/pool party at a local park! There's something about bbq'd hot dogs and bagged chips and pop in a can in the summer :)

That morning we also visited a local antique store in a town over from ours. I LOVE going there, they always have such amazing things I want to fill our house with. Hopefully we'll come home with something for our house this weekend!

Getting Ready

I know you've all been waiting for it-WEDDING PHOTOS ARE HERE! Today I'm sharing some 'getting ready' photos.

We sleepily stumbled into the salon with a breakfast of muffins, cheese and orange juice sent along by my mom (such a small detail, but felt very special!). My brother was our videographer and followed us around all day! (Can't wait to see the video!)

I made hair pieces for each of my bridesmaids and asked them all to incorporate a braid somewhere in their hairdo. They all looked so cute!

Then it was my turn to get my HERR DID and boy was it curly! We curled it to the max because we chose to do photos after the ceremony and we wanted it to look supa fab later on in the day too!

Glasses

I've been wearing glasses probably since Kindergarten, I'm used to them being a part of my face. I sometimes get asked whether I wouldn't like to get contacts and y'know, I don't think I would. I've been wearing them for so long, I think I would be shocked by the nakedness of my face without them. YIKES!

I'm hoping to get a new pair in the near future-I'm actually digging these that I'm wearing here:

 

 They're my brothers, aren't they fabulous? I have quite a narrow face, and in the past I've steered clear of big glasses, but since they're making a comeback, I just might go for it!

"Can You Make A Silly Hat?"

"Can I?" Well yes. I can. As mentioned in this outfit post, it was my aunt's 60th birthday recently, and I was asked to make a silly hat! I was pretty excited about it, and here's what I made!

   

Everything I used was from our local Dollarama, and let me tell you, Auntie Cathy looked fabulous!

Fathers Day

 Father's Day #1:

We celebrated Father Day with my dad last weekend. The guys went golfing while the ladies cooked up a storm. There was SO MUCH FOOD. There was chili, watermelon, rolkuchen (roll cookies in English), and for dessert, Saskatoon Rhubarb Crisp! Oh my! We sat outside on the veranda, and it started to POUR in the middle of our meal. The picture of the yard doesn't show it, but it is coming down hard!

Father's Day #2: 

 

We did some shopping, went out for supper and then to the Bridge Drive-In for ice cream!


Both days were great days, and I'm so thankful to have these two fathers in my life :)  How did you celebrate your dad?

I'm usually totally into pendants, but I may have to try some of the collar necklaces that are coming out, and that tribal one at the bottom appears to be calling my name! I even just love the layout of these, I'm drawn to the colors and contrasts, and I want every piece!

We Eat: Margherita Pizza

Pizza is one of my absolutely favorite foods. Followed closely by sushi and tacos :D (nom nom nom). I love to make pizza-we actually probably eat it at least once a week! Superstore's Blue Menu line has such a nice mulit-grain crust, it is probably one of the best pizza crusts I've ever had.

Anyway. Here's what you need:
-Pizza Sauce: I use Catelli's Tomato & Basil pizza sauce-YUM
-Enough tomato slices to cover the pizza
-Basil: I could only find Thai basil which has an anise-like flavor and scent to it. You can use regular basil too, but this we just as good
-Cheese: All we had was goats milk mozzarella which was fine with me, I LOVE goat cheese. Otherwise you can use regular mozzarella cheese. Fresh mozzarella is the way to go though, can't beat it.
-A hungry tummy :)

New Etsy Faves

I LOVE finding new etsy shops that make things I love. Today I want to share this amazing little shop I found called Tammy Jo Fashion I love their fabrics, and swing styles, so very cute. I've favorited so many of their pieces already it's ridiculous. Here's a few of my favorites.

Weekend Festival

This weekend Heidi-and-Seek Boutique went to a Folk Festival! It was my first outdoor festival, so I was excited to have this experience. It was interesting. We got there around 9:30am, and it promptly started to POUR while we set up the tent my dad set up the tent and me and my mom huddled under her umbrella and the tarp for the roof of the tent ;) (Thanks Dad!)

 It went pretty well! It was fun to have a bunch of girls in and around the tent gushing over what they thought was cute-that was probably a highlight for me :) One thing I would like to try to do is table/display presentation. Miss Andi from Made By Andi has got an amazing display, it really adds character to her table and helps you understand her brand. I really want to come up with something that speaks what my brand is and brings people in with a visually pleasing display.
