Introductions: Janelle

It's time to introduce another of my models: Janelle!

Janelle so happens to be my lovely sister-in-law! She's a fabulous makeup artist, and did a few of the girls' makeup at the fall photo shoot. She's moving to Vancouver in a few weeks, which I'm very sad about, but hopefully that means I get to go visit :)

You can follow her adventures here on her blog

Banana Pancakes

One of my favorites Saturday morning treats is pancakes!!! I spent some time last year experimenting with different pancake flavors (which I will continue to show you!) But banana pancakes is still my go-to flavor :)

What you need:
2 Cups Milk
1/4 Vegetable Oil
2 Tbsp. Honey
2 Tsp. Lemon Juice
1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract

2 Cups Flour (I did 1 cup regular, 1 cup whole wheat)
1 Tbsp. Baking Powder
1/2 Tsp. Baking Soda
1/4 Tsp. Salt
1 or 2 bananas, mashed

Instructions: Measure out all the liquid ingredients into a measuring cup. Set aside, and in a large bowl sift together the dry ingredients. Then pour the wet into the dry and mix well. Once the batter is mixed, you can add the mashed banana(s), and I like to add peanut butter chips or chocolate chips but we had neither! (Peanut butter chip banana pancakes are the BEST!) I use a muffin batter sized scoop to make this size of pancake, it's pretty perfect. Let the batter sit until it is bubbling on the edges, then flip and brown on the other side.

Slather with peanut butter (If you forgot to get peanut butter chips like me!) and syrup!

Yum!

More pancaked experiments coming soon!

Gravity

I've been catching up on So You Think You Can Dance, and the most recent one I watched was where they did all of Mia Michaels' most famous routines from the show, and this still remains my favorite of all the seasons.

Behind the Scenes

I don't know if I've mentioned this or not, but I recently did a HUGE fall photoshoot for my fall collection, and I wanted to share some behind the scenes stuff with you!

We set up makeup and hair in my kitchen, my sister-in-law, Janelle (also one of my models) is a fantastic makeup artist, and has a TON of makeup.  She and another of my models, Joelle (also amazing with makeup) were in charge of making everyone look glamerous!

We started hair and makeup around 11, and I wanted to make sure they were fed and energized for the photoshoot, so I provided fresh fruit, veggies and dip, muffins and my mom brought over cheese and crackers as well as fresh banana chocolate chip cake! YUM!

Then we headed out into the backyard and I snapped a few test shots before we started

It was a really fun day, I had a great time!  It's so different shooting with a group in contrast to shooting someone on their own, there was lots of energy, laughter and music! (Thanks Sonya!)

Hope you enjoyed a little peek behind the scenes :)
