Wedding Beginnings and a DIY

HELLO Blog world! (And a special hello to my fiance's sister, who's been patiently waiting for a new blog post this week since I haven't been working since Tuesday :D)

So yikes. There is a lot of planning that needs to be done for a wedding-right from the beginning. It's a little crazy, but it's fun :D. I wanted to ask my bridesmaids RIGHT AWAY because we have to go wedding dress shopping ASAP to make sure I get a dress on time for January! (EEK!) I LOVED how Elsie from A Beautiful Mess asked her bridesmaids and that is where I got the inspiration to do this:

This is super easy. Here's what you need:
-a small mason jar
-fabric of your choice
-pinking shears
-candy!
-rubber band
-ribbon
-shipping tag
-pen/marker

1. Fill the jar with their favorite candy
2. Cut the fabric into a square-this should be large enough to cover the opening of the jar plus a little extra so that when you put the rubber band around it, there's excess coming out the bottom.
3. Cut along the edges with your pinking shears
4. Put the fabric over the mouth of the jar, and wrap a rubber band around the neck (I tried it with just the ribbon first and that doesn't like to stay, so the rubber band gives it the shape and then it is MUCH easier to tie the ribbon around it)
5. Write whatever you like on the shipping tag
6. Pull the ribbon through the shipping tag hole (I had to cut the shipping tag so that it didn't scrape the surface-it was a little too long)
7. Tie a pretty ribbon around where you just put the rubber band, and voila!

Thanks for reading! Happy Thursday!
